You have heard it before just take the first step and the rest will happen. Or “One Step At A Time”… All well and good unless that first step terrifies you. It is easier to say than do and those of us that have done it know this more than those who have yet to step. So this is about that leap of faith in life and in business and thoughts, techniques, and steps that will help you take the step you NEED to take sooner rather than later. I can make one promise to you the more steps you take the easier it will become to take them but not all steps will be successful – so the more you take the greater your chances are at succeeding in the game of life.

The first step you have to take is definitely the most important and yes the hardest for a lot of us and it is all about your thoughts. The power of positive and negative thinking is one of the greatest tools in our arsenal of life. You have all heard it before:
“Whether you think YOU CAN, or think YOU CAN’T… You’re Right.” -Henry Ford
It is a proven fact, that the power of suggestion can change the outcome of any given situation. The great thing about this is it can be learned. You can take control and take the first step in having your best life ever with just a thought!

The power of positive thinking is remarkable.
In fact, the idea that your mind can change your world almost seems to easy of a concept to work. I can assure you, that I have experienced and witnessed the good that focusing on the positive can bring.
Before I get into the next step, let me ask you a question. Can you guess what the most successful and positive people think about all day long?
The answer is really simple…
Happy, healthy people think mostly about what they want and how to get it. Not about how they don’t have enough skill, or money, or ability. They only allow positive thoughts of how it will look once they achieve their next desire. In this way developing a positive attitude can truly change your entire life.

Your next step should be to discipline yourself to do what you know you need to do to be the very best in your field and in your personal relationships. Perhaps the best definition of this step is this: Self-discipline is the ability to make yourself do what you should do when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not. Those of you who know me well know I love to quote, “If you have to eat a frog, eat it first thing in the morning”. It is easy to do something when you feel like it. It’s when you don’t feel like it and you step up to do it anyway, that you move your life and career onto the fast track.
Your next step is to write it down, clearly and in great detail. Always think on paper – I’m a digital girl so trust me when I say in this use paper. A goal that is not in writing holds no real power in your mind. So take the time and write it out what it looks like from the first step to success.
For sure the next step has to be included as without it you will never succeed. Set a deadline! A deadline acts as a forcing agent in your subconscious mind. It motivates you and gives you a sense of urgency to do the things necessary to make your goals come to fruition. If it is a big enough goal, set sub-deadlines as well. Do not leave this to chance.
We all know the next step which is to take action as without action there is no chance of success in anything. So do something, anything, just get busy!
Last, but certainly not least or all (as there are other steps depending on your situation and direction that need to be taken) is to do something every single day that moves you in the direction of your most important goal at the moment. (EVERY SINGLE DAY) yes, that includes weekends! If you are serious about succeeding in life this is a must! You need to develop a habit of doing something 365 days of the year. It doesn’t have to be big it just has to be done.
Here are two things you can do to put these steps into action immediately.
First, decide exactly what you want, write it down with a deadline, make a plan and take action – on at least one goal – today – RIGHT NOW!
Second, determine the price you will have to pay to achieve this goal and then get busy paying that price – whatever it is.
Finally, in ALL things keep a healthy mind by the power of positive, “I can do” attitude! The world and your success are right in front of you. You just have to take that first step.
