Change like the seasons

Seasonal changeChange is GOOD! It is not restricted to the seasons, but that is a good reminder to take a look at what you are doing, where you are going and where you want to be.  There are four seasons and at a minimum you should take a look at your direction and see if you also could improve with a little change.

You are always the student, never a master. You have to keep moving forward (Conrad Hall) in order to keep ahead of your competition.  We all know success is connected with action and being open to change is definitely an action required in business.

Change keeps us moving, it keeps us growing and more interesting to our clients.  Imagine anything without change… what a scary thought that is!

We are a society obsessed with speed and change is no exception, knowledge that mistakes will happen and adjustments will be needed when this happens. Adjustments not a halting of progress. When people feel stuck and frustrated, it is often their fear of change that is causing the problem.  Imagine the worst outcome…so you offer a new service, schedule a seminar, or stock a new product and no one comes, no one buys or maybe they dislike it so much you get a bad review.  Did that hurt like the sting of a thousand whips striking bare flesh? Nope, not even a little bit like that.

So we try, we fail we try again.  This is what success really looks like. Without failure, there is no trying and without trying there is no success.  Edison, when queried by a reporter about the seemingly incredible difficulties associated with his work on the light bulb rebutted, “I have not failed 700 times. I’ve succeeded in proving 700 ways how not to build a lightbulb.”

Change to succeedSo think on this when is the last time you stopped and took a real hard look at every aspect of your life personally and professionally.  Are you doing what you want to do or what someone else says you should be doing? The Fall season is upon us I can think of no better time to look for change than when the leaves are showing us the beauty that comes from change with their vibrant colors of Fall.  Change has a reputation for being a bad thing, but this is due to how many people never conquer the five fears of change; Fear of the Unknown, Fear of Failure, Fear of Commitment, Fear of Disapproval, and yes even Fear of Success!  Once you understand what you want of life and look at all possibilities as an exciting challenge instead of something to fear you are on your way to really living life and enjoying all that implies.  So bring on the seasons, grab life with both hands and look at all opportunities of change for what it truly is – LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST!
