You better be visible. Period – end of story!
We hear it all the time potential customers saying, “I need the services of XYZ, but cannot find them…” or “I have been putting it off but now I need the services of XYZ and their advertisement is no longer running. Do you know if they are still in business”?
“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”
Warren Buffett, American investor (b. 1930)
This quote perfectly sums up Social Media. If you start today, tomorrow is not going to create an immediate explosion of new customers. Several businesses are profiting from social media because they built their platforms a while ago. That does not mean it is too late for you to start, it is never too late. Just know each day you are not seen by your customers is your competitors gain.
Anything worth doing takes time, effort, care and a certain amount of skill. It is where over two billion people find their answers, get inspired, connect with others and most importantly where they shop. Does that alone not make it worth the effort?
Time and cost are two of the factors that we help our clients deal with on a daily basis. Even with a basic amount of time commitment in the right way like six hours per week you can increase your leads over 67%. That is a huge increase for the time given to social media channels.
To use social media effectively, you need an inbound strategy. This comes from knowing where you are headed, what you need, who your target audience is, what are their needs and where they are at.
When you have that you are ready to pick two or three social media platforms to launch your primary message. This step unless you have someone in your company skilled on social media, I recommend getting help. A good social media manager will work hand in hand with you and help keep you on target with your companies goals. Customize your content, do not become the elevator music in the background instead strive to be the song that everyone is talking about.
